FSSI Registration

FSSAI stands for the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India that controls all the food businesses in the country. It is authorised to register and provide licences to these businesses as well as regulate laws regarding it. The license is a 14-digit that is to be printed on every product. It is divided into three categories viz. Central license for large scale business, State license for medium and a basic registration for SMEs.

Registration Procedure

  • Step 1: Application is to be filled in a form-A format which should be submitted with the Registering Authority (RA) along with Rs. 100 registration fee.
  • Step 2: You will be provided with a unique application reference number.
  • Step 3: You will be revered by RA within a week. In case of rejection, you will revise a letter mentioning the reasons.
  • Step 4: RA might conduct an inspection in some cases.
  • Step5: Once the inception process is complete you can commence the manufacturing.

FSSAI registration or license can be renewed 30 days before the expiry of the original license. You need to provide your current license number to Legal Way. We will re-file Form A and B for the renewal process of the application of license. It approximately takes 30 to 40 days for the renewal of the license.
